Singer-songwriter David Owens, a frequent performer in the “Songwriters In The Round” series showcasing Low Country original compositions, provides lead vocals and rhythm guitar along with veteran upright bass player Andy Norman and string virtuoso Jamie Coan rounding out a band that provides a cross section of favorites from artists like Van Morrison, Billy Joe Shaver, Little Feat, Jimmy Reed,  and Chuck Berry to lesser known tunes by such artists as Ian Tyson, Townes van Zandt, John Hartford, and J J Cale.

Add in a generous sprinkling of original tunes from David Owens’ most recent CD Delapo Luxury and you have a blend of great music that one fan describes as “The kind of music I listen to when I’m cruising down the Interstate”.

Owens and Norman have been 10th block neighbors for over 30 years and Jamie Coan is a New Jersey transplant from the popular New York/New Jersey band From Good Homes. His violin, guitar, and dobro playing adds a soaring dimension that is a perennial favorite of many local musicians as well as their usual crowd of enthusiastic followers.

The result is a band that delights their audiences whether in a formal setting or hanging out on the front porch at “Poet’s Corner” on Folly Beach where their eclectic blend of modern originals, blues standards, and swing tunes fit right in with the wind in the palmettos, the boom of the Folly Beach surf, and the general merriment that defines island living.
